Appraisals:
1. Verbal appraisals: This involves Diane actually seeing the object in person and talking the owner through
the date, range of market values, condition and the possible market in which to sell. This type of appraisal
does not include any written material. Usually this is used to assist the owner in the general value of the
item, helping to decide if a written appraisal is warranted or whether the market value warrants selling.
The appraisal fee for this is applied to a written appraisal if needed.
2. Written appraisals: This involves Diane actually seeing the object in person and recording size, date,
condition, purpose of appraisal and photography of the item. Diane then prepares the final written document
in accordance with the professional guidelines of the
Appraiser's Association of America
and the Uniformed Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice
(government requirements for writing donation appraisals).
3. Appraisals from photographs and images sent through the internet are not encouraged and usually rejected
by Diane. Usually items for appraisal must be seen in person.
4. Types of Appraisals: Estates, insurance, and donations to museums and private foundations.
5. Fee for appraisal is $175.00 per hour, based strictly on an hourly basis.
